Carla Geddes CEC, ACC, is a certified professional empowerment coach who has been providing clarity, inspiration and support to those she works with for more than thirty years. Over the past six years she’s stepped into the role which focuses on helping busy professional women make a shift from where they are, to where they really want to be using a core energy approach.
Carla smiles as she refers to herself as a half-time coach. “Somewhere around this time of
life is when women look to evaluate and choose how they want to play out the second half of the “game”. A coach is the perfect person who will help find focus, new strategies, and confidence while holding the individual accountable to take the steps needed to move forward.
Soon after I turned 50, I began to take a critical look at different areas of my life. Although there were parts of my career that I loved, the undeniable feelings of unfulfillment and discontent would often surface. I’d been so busy in the roles of mother, wife and teacher that I didn’t make much time for myself and I felt stuck. Taking a gigantic step, I found the courage to take an early retirement in order to reinvent myself. My desire was to find a way I could help others and still be in synch with my values and my passions. The field of personal development and empowerment coaching was my answer.
Looking back over the past years I can see a huge amount of growth. With the help of my own personal coach, I found new ideas, increased confidence, balance, and now I see more of the richness of life. Make no mistakes… it took focus, commitment, faith, study, time and action but the work I did has made all the difference. I am confident that the next half of my life will be the best ever. We all deserve that feeling.”
Carla’s work also includes teaching coaching skills and technique for professionals and businesses who want to focus on oral communication to enhance their internal effectiveness as well as customer relationships. She also mentors new coaches as they practice their skills after receiving their initial training. Carla is a member and serves as an officer of the Rappahannock Regional Toastmaster’s Club and the Richmond River Express chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). She splits her time living on Florida’s East Coast and Northern Virginia.
